Welcome to ScoreKids. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) explain the rules for using our website, progressive web app, and any related ScoreKids apps (together, the “Service”).
By using ScoreKids, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Parents and guardians: if a child uses ScoreKids, you are responsible for their use and for agreeing to these Terms on their behalf where required.
Note: These Terms are a product-facing agreement draft. They are not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney. Review before App Store / payment launch.
1. What ScoreKids is
ScoreKids is a kid-safe sports experience focused on:
- Live and recent scores
- Standings and schedules
- News rewritten or filtered for kids
- Optional favorites and a fun Binder collectibles experience
Our promise:
- No ads
- No betting or gambling features
- No mature content by design
Scores and stats are for learning, fandom, and entertainment—not for wagering.
2. Eligibility & accounts
- Anyone can use yesterday / today / tomorrow scores and standings without an account.
- Optional ScoreKids ID (display name and binder data) is stored on this device today. We do not collect a parent email in the app today.
- Do not create an account for someone else without permission.
- Parents should supervise younger children and manage device settings.
We may refuse, suspend, or remove access that violates these Terms.
3. Kid-safe user conduct
ScoreKids is a friendly place for families. You agree not to:
- Use the Service for gambling, betting tips, or odds
- Upload, request, or share bullying, hate, sexual, violent, or illegal content
- Try to contact other children through the app (there is no social chat by design)
- Attempt to hack, scrape abusively, overload, or reverse engineer the Service beyond normal use
- Impersonate ScoreKids, leagues, teams, or other people
- Use automated bots that harm performance or break data-provider rules
- Bypass paywalls, security, or parental controls
- Use ScoreKids in any way that breaks applicable law
Be a good sport. Cheer for teams. Don’t tear people down.
4. Free features, Plus, and future payments
- Yesterday / today / tomorrow scores, standings, and a free fan binder sheet are intended to remain free.
- ScoreKids Plus (later) may unlock software extras such as other dates this season, Ask Scout, extra binder pages, or Lock Screen scores — not official player merchandise. Plus is not for sale in this version; the current TestFlight demo is ungated.
- If paid subscriptions launch, pricing, billing, and cancellation will be shown at purchase (App Store or web checkout).
- Scores are not a prize and Binder cards are fan fun, not financial products.
5. Intellectual property
5.1 ScoreKids property
The ScoreKids name, logo, Scout mascot, design system, software, and original content are owned by ScoreKids or its licensors. You may not copy, sell, or rebrand them without written permission.
5.2 Sports data, teams, and players
- Team names, logos, player names, and related marks belong to their respective leagues, teams, players, and rights holders.
- ScoreKids is an independent fan product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or official partners of MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL, or their players associations unless we clearly say so.
- Stats and scores come from third-party data sources under their terms.
5.3 Binder cards
Binder cards and similar collectibles are fan entertainment for personal use. They are not official league merchandise and are not investment products.
5.4 Your feedback
If you send ideas or feedback to scorekidsapp@gmail.com, you grant ScoreKids permission to use that feedback to improve the product without owing you payment (unless we agree otherwise in writing).
6. News and AI content
- News may be filtered, summarized, or rewritten to be age-appropriate.
- AI-assisted text may contain mistakes. Treat stories as kid-friendly sports reading, not legal, medical, or official league statements.
- We work to avoid mature themes, but sports news can still mention injuries, trades, or tough losses in a careful way.
- Report anything that feels inappropriate: scorekidsapp@gmail.com.
7. Disclaimers
Entertainment & information only. Live scores, standings, play-by-play, and news can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. Do not rely on ScoreKids for official decisions, broadcasting rights, or gambling.
“As is.” The Service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied—including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement—to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Third parties. We are not responsible for third-party data outages, API changes, or external sites.
No professional advice. Nothing in the app is financial, legal, or medical advice.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- ScoreKids and its creators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill.
- Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $50.
Some places do not allow certain limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum allowed by law.
Parents: please supervise use and verify important information with official league sources when it matters.
9. Indemnity
To the extent allowed by law, you agree to protect ScoreKids from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms (including use by a child you supervise).
10. Termination
You may stop using ScoreKids at any time. Clear site data or uninstall to remove local information.
We may suspend or end access if:
- You break these Terms
- We must do so for legal or security reasons
- We discontinue the Service
Sections that should survive (like IP, disclaimers, liability limits) will continue after termination.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it. Using ScoreKids also means you understand that policy.
12. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update features, leagues, or these Terms. When we change Terms in a material way, we will update the date at the top and, when practical, provide in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the ScoreKids operator is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules—except where mandatory consumer protections in your home region apply.
If a dispute arises, contact us first at scorekidsapp@gmail.com. We prefer to resolve issues quickly and kindly.

14. Miscellaneous
- If one part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- These Terms are the whole agreement between you and ScoreKids about the Service (plus the Privacy Policy and any purchase terms).
- Our failure to enforce a rule once is not a waiver forever.
- You may not transfer your account rights without our consent.
