Is ScoreKids really free and ad-free?
Yes on ads: ScoreKids does not show advertising. No banner ads, no video ads, no “sponsored betting partner” slots.
Right now the full demo is open (friends & family / TestFlight): live scores, standings, news, search, box scores, Ask Scout, and the Fan Binder. No ads. No betting. No login required.
When paid plans launch: yesterday / today / tomorrow scores and standings stay free. Looking up other dates this season will likely be ScoreKids Plus. We will not sell player merch packs. Pricing will be shown at purchase.
Never: We won’t fund the app by selling kids’ attention to advertisers.
How is my family’s data handled?
We collect as little as possible. Scores work with no login.
- Favourite teams and the binder are saved on your device.
- Ask Scout (optional) sends the question to xAI (Grok) so Scout can answer. Parents can turn Scout off.
- The iPhone app, if you tap Allow, sends an anonymous device id, team ids, and Apple push tokens so Lock Screen scores can update with the app closed.
- We do not collect a child’s email. We do not collect a parent email in the app today.
- We do not sell personal information or build ad profiles.

Is ScoreKids safe for kids?
We design for families and kids (roughly ages 7–14):

Parents should still use device-level screen time tools and glance at news topics if a child is sensitive to injuries or trades.
Golden rule we use when building: Would a 10-year-old enjoy this, and would a parent feel good about it?
What sports does ScoreKids cover?
ScoreKids covers MLB, NBA, NHL, and NFL with clear, kid-friendly scores, standings, and safe news for each league.
We treat every league equally in the product — pick the sport you love from the top bar.
How does the news work?
- We pull sports headlines from respected sources.
- We filter for family fitness (no betting hooks, no mature angles).
- When enabled, we may use AI to rewrite stories in a friendlier, clearer voice for kids.
- You get short, readable stories—not a noise machine.

What is the Binder?
The Binder is a fan scrapbook saved on your device:
- Open a daily pack (3 cards) and earn a trivia bonus card when you get the question right.
- New fans get a starter pack of players from teams they just picked.
- You can exchange a few cards a day for a new random card.
- Cards are our cartoon art — not official league merchandise, not an investment, not gambling.
- No peer-to-peer marketplace between kids.
What is Ask Scout?
Scout is ScoreKids’ friendly robot helper. Tap the Scout icon to Ask Scout a sports question (history, players, rules, champions, fun facts). Short Scout tips also show up on screens like Standings (e.g. what GB means).
Scout uses xAI (Grok) for open questions — not a fixed list of answers. The question goes to our servers, then to xAI; we ask them not to keep the chat. Soft daily limits apply. A parent can turn Ask Scout off in Settings (turning it back on needs a quick math check).

You do not need an account or a child’s email to use Scout. The question text is what we send to xAI. Questions are checked for safety before that call. Details: Privacy Policy.
Do you need an account?
No for yesterday / today / tomorrow scores and standings.
An optional collector ID is just a display name on this device. We may later offer optional parent-email backup (login codes, no password) so teams and binder survive a reinstall. Scores will still work if you skip it.
Can my child use ScoreKids alone?
Many kids can use scores with light supervision. We recommend:
- Parents review Privacy Policy and Terms
- Shared devices use a passcode / Screen Time
- Younger kids get a quick tour (favorites, how to open a game)
COPPA-minded design means we avoid unnecessary personal data—but parents stay in charge.
Are the scores official / always perfect?
We use well-known sports data sources and work hard to stay accurate. Still:
- Feeds can lag
- Rare mistakes happen
- Broadcasts may differ by a beat
ScoreKids is for entertainment and learning. For official rulings, check the league or your broadcast.
Is ScoreKids affiliated with the leagues?
No. ScoreKids is an independent fan app. We are not endorsed by MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL, or their players associations unless we explicitly announce a partnership.
Team names and logos belong to their owners and are shown for identification and fandom.
Does ScoreKids work on phones and tablets?
Yes. ScoreKids is web-first (including install-to-home-screen / PWA) and is built with mobile and future native iOS in mind. Use a modern browser for the best experience.
How do I delete data on this device?
- Clear the site’s data in browser settings, or
- Remove the Home Screen / installed app, or
- Use in-app delete options when shown in Account
